any news on the progress, guys? the community isn't really useable without it.

Arnaud IT: HL typically operates in quarters. So, if it is "in progress" this quarter (Oct-Nov-Dec) you can expect release before the end of Dec. "Under review" would be something in consideration but with no active progress in the current quarter. Just my observation as a user with no direct insight/contact inside the organization.

Keith1 Besherse: hey Keith, thanks for taking the time to answer with this valuable info. It helps manage expectations! which kind of GHL user are you, out of curiosity?

Arnaud IT: I am not quite sure what you mean by “which kind of” HL user…
I am a subscriber to the $497 Pro Plan. A proficient technical support analyst and troubleshooter. I am highly competent with Workflows and Calendars.
My business model is a combination of tech support for other HL agencies and SMMA for my agency clients.

This is critical as in my view this whole feature isn't workable or useful if there are no notifications to the community members that there are posts happening to encourage engagement.
Skool has done an incredible job of keeping things simple and so easy to use. You can see the community even without a login if it's a public/open group to encourage really easy viewing so people can check it out and see all the activity and jump in. If you try to post it will give you a pop-up to join the group.
There is a 'Watch' link at the top of each post where the title is so you can receive notifications in your inbox when people post on a particular thread.
You can copy the link of any post so you can easily send that or share that with people you want to join the group.
There is a SETTINGS button in the right sidebar for the group that has a Notifications section that allows you to adjust digest email frequency, whether to be notified when someone likes your post, get emails when admins post (yes/no), and whether to get event reminders the day before. SO critical for any platform that is a community to have a way to adjust notification settings something like this.
Setting has a feature to Invite To Group which shows the link you can copy to clickboard. This is CRUCIAL as well if you want to encourage people to invite others that you make this easy.

We also need the option to customize the automated community notification messages that are sent via email.
Plus, and option for community members to disable notification, if they feel like they're getting too many email or text notifications.

We also need the ability to "follow" a post inside of a community so that we can choose to receive updates of new replies (and of course disable them as well)

Yes please! the engagement is dead inside our communities because people dont get notified when we post and when we tag them, the email notifications go to spam and a lot of people dont check their emails every hour to see if there is a new post...
We also need to be able to tag everyone in one go.
