đź“… Community Calendar: Show Events in *USERS Timezone*

Skool has this and is definitely needed (see images below)
Students get confused on which time zone calls are in when it could be solved automatically by showing all events in their own timezone

đź—“ Community Events Calendar Improvements
T
Tiyana Robinson
Now that the community events feature is live, here are a few improvements I recommend:
(1) The calendar should jump to the month of the first scheduled event (My first scheduled event isn't until next month, so when my community members open the events calendar, it looks blank because there are no events this month. Even though there's an "upcoming events" list on the sidebar, having the calendar jump forward to the month of the first upcoming event is a nice UX feature)
(2a) Clickable links in the event description
(2b) Ability to attach a form to an event registration
(3) A shareable link for scheduled events (I'd like to be able to share a direct link to a scheduled event)
(4) A way for community members to RSVP for free events (and a way to track + display RSVPs on the event)
(5) More notifications and reminders to people who have RSVPd to an event
Here's a loom where I talk through these ideas: https://www.loom.com/share/77744c339a5f484a8af10edb12fdbda9?sid=bbe0a4ff-32d2-4e33-9952-59092718773f

I just finished a major project customization for a client using Communities and I couldn't believe the lack of featufes I found. We had to apply tons of custom code and css to be able to find workarounds for every missing feature which was a pain. Here are my findings:
- User levels. There are NO user levels. A community has different levels of membership and this has no ability to create levels. (Leader board is not the same)
- Leaderboard. There NO customization levels for this. There are 9 levels and no way to decrease or increase wanted levels. No way to use triggers and set respective points (only 1 point for each interaction and no way to change this)
- Even ticket selling. This gave us the biggest pain bc this offers a waterdown version of a checkout. Had NO way of adding different price levels (only 1 price). NO way to add coupons. NO way to add processing fees. This was a nightmare and ended up linking to a separate checkout page for every event which kills experience.
- Missing AI moderation. Moderation is the biggest time sucking activities there are. We already have AI, we should be able to instruxt AI on moderation rules.
- Poor onboarding. Users are just dumped into a feed. 90%+ miss completing their profile as this is not clearly visible and no clear incentive.
- Poor automation around it. There are many triggers and actions missing around Communities. Ex. Upon event purchase, upon membership cancelation, fulter by user levels/roles, etc.
I dont feel comfortable working with Communities again until these features are added. Spent 3x more cusgomizing this than builfing a large website.

I'm seeing that when I update an event, it wipes out all registrants!!!!!
Basically I have a weekly event, and I go in to update the graphic, topic, etc for ONE of the recurring events. When I do that it drops the registrants back to ZERO for all the events. Can this be fixed?

Please add ability to share the event calendar as a link! Right now I have to duplicate all events in community to a google calendar and share that calendar.

Event templates. It would be nice to be able to save event templates for easy set up of events that are recurring but not on a regular schedule. Either that or the ability to clone events.
Customers need to be able to filter upcoming events by event type/group/location/tag, etc
Option for admins to manually add members to events
Some optimizations for live events:
Event capacity - have the ability to track and limit the number of attendees.
Ability to change the "location" to a physical address (preferably with a clickable maps link) instead of just "other"
Display more than 4 upcoming events
Option to display events in local timezone instead of user timezone for live events.

Thanks for highlighting the security issues and also the need for a registration list for both reminders and follow up.

Also, the admin option to not require registration.

This is so important! Circle has this as well and it makes it so much easier. This makes such a big difference to the user experience. Please check on how Circle does this as well.

And the ability to select who can attend events base on more than just "members" or "members at a level"... would be great if members of a private channel could be granted access to specific events

100% need clickable links in the description because we have posts dedicated the discussion of the events.
Character limit should be increased as it's very limited.

Currently maximum Event length is 24 Hrs. Works great for Virtual events and webinars...Not so much for Live onsite events. Most corporate or company live events "onsite at a hotel" are 2-3 days in length. We do both live, hybrid and virtual events. Please remove the 24 HR limit on the length of an event. Make it at least five days for longer conferences and trade shows. Would really like to be able to tie a community group to an event schedule that works for all. Plus all of the above.
