🧭 Overview
Rentals now supports Additional fees — mandatory charges that are automatically applied to every booking for a listing, such as cleaning fees, resort fees, service fees, and damage waiver fees. Admins can create reusable fee templates from a global catalog, attach them to one or more listings, and configure flexible pricing with full tax support. Customers always see fees upfront in the booking widget and as clear line items on their invoices — no surprises at checkout.
šŸš€ What's New?
āœ… Global Fee Catalog
Admins can now create reusable Additional fee templates from Calendars → Calendar settings → Rentals → Additional fees. Each template defines the fee name, pricing type, amount, and tax — and can be attached to as many listings as needed without recreating it each time.
āœ… Flexible Pricing Options
Fees support two pricing types: Flat amount (a fixed dollar charge) or Percentage (applied to the base rental subtotal). Flat fees can be further configured as Per booking (one fixed charge per booking) or Per booking unit (charged per hour, day, week, or month based on the listing's booking unit).
āœ… Price Overrides
You can also override a fee's amount for a specific listing without affecting the global template or other listings via the Inventory & pricing tab for a specific listing.
āœ… Transparent Customer Experience
Fees are always visible to customers before checkout — included in the first total shown in the booking widget and itemised under invoices.
āœ… Tax Configuration on Fees
Taxes can be applied to additional fees independently of the base rental price. Tax on fees is calculated on the fee amount and displayed as a separate line item — keeping fee amounts and tax reporting clean and accurate.

šŸŽÆ Why This Matters
  • Rental businesses — from short-term properties to equipment and venue rentals — have long needed a native way to apply charges like cleaning fees and service fees without baking them into the base price or using workarounds like duplicate listings.
  • Fees are always shown upfront to customers, eliminating pricing surprises and reducing disputes at checkout.
  • Reusable global templates with listing-level override support give admins full flexibility without having to recreate the same fee across every listing individually.
  • Full tax support on fees keeps financial reporting accurate and ensures invoices are compliant.
  • This brings Rentals in line with industry-standard booking platforms and removes a key gap that was preventing beta users from going fully live with the module.
