What's new?
  • App developers can provide search keywords that they wish to match their app with.
  • Developers can provide up to 200 characters of search keywords for an app.
  • These keywords are given the second-highest priority, after app name, when a user searches for apps on the marketplace.
  • Apps are displayed in search results based on relevance (matched with app name, search keywords, tagline, company name) and popularity (number of installs the app has)
Why is this important?
  • ~40% of users who land on Marketplace proceed to search for an app. Hence, this is a key discovery journey, on which app developers had limited control. With this release, we've empowered app developers to ensure their apps are discoverable to users searching for relevant apps.
