Domain Connect Conflict Detection Across Product Types!
What's New
We’ve introduced a safeguard in Domain Connect to prevent domain configuration conflicts across product types. Now, if connecting a domain to a new product type would disrupt an existing product’s connection (e.g., Funnel or WordPress), the system will proactively block the action and display a clear, actionable error message.
How it Works
When a user attempts to connect a domain through Domain Connect:
- Before checking for DNS record conflicts (e.g., A record, CAA, CNAME mismatches), the system now verifies whether the domain is already linked to another product type.
- If a conflict exists (for example, connecting a domain to the Client Portal would break its Funnel setup), the user is blocked from proceeding.
A detailed error message is shown, specifying:
- The product currently using the domain
- A redirect link (if the conflict is within the same location) to the domain management section for resolution
- Troubleshooting steps to help the user decide whether to disconnect the current product or use a different domain
Why it Matters
- Prevents accidental service disruptions by catching conflicts early
- Reduces support load by improving clarity during setup
- Guides users with targeted error messages and direct resolution paths
Important Notes
- Conflict checks apply across all locations within an agency, not just the current one
- Error messages adapt based on the conflict type:
- If within the same location, a "here" link appears for direct navigation
- If in a different location, the link is omitted but the error still names the conflicting product
- Product types checked for conflicts include:
- Funnel, Website, Store, Blog, Webinar, WordPress, Client Portal, Branded Domain
- Email domains do not conflict with any other product type
