Previous Behaviour:
  • Before this update, users couldn't access the Custom Value Picker for certain field types, limiting flexibility.
  • Before, you could only choose a pre set tag for each automation
What's New ?
We've introduced a new dropdown feature that allows users to toggle between standard values and the Custom Value Picker for specific field types.
  • Now, you can dynamically tag them based on data from the automation trigger.
  • It allows you to use tags for a very wide range of functions
The users will have 2 options to select from:
  • Standard Values: Users can input data based on the field type (e.g., date, dropdown, numeric).
  • Custom Value Picker: Users can use the custom value picker to select from.
Real Life Use Cases:
  • Type service plus location would be a tag like this: bushtrimming-{{contact.postal_code}}
  • When a specific user has set a lead I want to use/create tags like: "setter_{{user.name}}"
  • User wants to add a tag sign up offer or sign up date they can tag like Signup-{{right_now.month}}-{{right_now.year}}
Phase 1 Rollout
To start, this feature has been applied to two actions:
  • Add Contact Tag
  • Remove Contact Tag
How to Use?
  • Click on the 3 dots that is added on the right side of the field
  • Change the Field Type to "Custom"
  • Select the value from the Custom Value Picker
  • In the custom values tag that are added can be string ‘tag-1’ or [‘tag-1’, ‘tag-2’], or ‘tag-1, tag-2’
What's Next?
We're working to expand this feature across multiple actions. The goal is to provide "Custom Value Picker" functionality for all fields. The next actions to receive this feature include:
  • Assign Users Action
  • If Else Action
