Updating checkboxes with automation removes all existing selections

If you have a custom field that is of type checkbox, the intent was to allow the selection of more than one item. When using an automation to select one more item, all existing selected items will be removed. There is not a great way right now to evaluate which existing items are present so that you can re-select them in the automation either.
I propose that when selecting a checkbox item with automations, the existing selections should remain.
For example:
Pick ALL the colors you like:
[X] Red
[X] Green
[ ] Blue
If the automation adds Blue, it will remove Red and Green unless you re-select Red and Green at the same time.

Actually, with the workflow action 'update custom field' it will override whatever selection the contact has and update it to what is selected in the workflow action. If we have many option we need to update, leave what was there and update with the new option chosen.

Existing Data Getting Deleted Instead of updating Items in Contact Field

Given a user is updating a contact field from within Workflows,
when the user selects a custom field of type Dropdown (multiple) which currently has list items selected,
the system deletes all currently checked items rather than checking or unchecking items from the dropdown list.
In the picture attached, if the contact already has other items added to "Lists", they are completely cleared, and the items "Tax Delinquent" and "D4D" are added in its place. This should instead give the user the option to add or remove one of the Dropdown menu items and not delete all data.

Has this been resolved? Been under review since 2022. Here's another post pointing out the same issue: https://ideas.gohighlevel.com/automations/p/workflow-should-be-able-to-update-only-the-chosen-checkbox-option

Just checking back on this as it is quite critical. If Red and Green are ticked we desperately need to add Blue via a workflow and not delete the current values. This is crucial for us as we have students buying courses at different times. I cannot delete a course(s) they are studying on just because the workflow cannot keep the current values!

Also Uncheck option. Now, we can add the check but I cannot figure out how to remove it.
