There is currently no trigger for when general contact information is updated or added to contacts. This seems like a very basic trigger that is missing inside automations. Please add this ASAP

Ashwin Raghunandan You are wrong. Contact changed does not have option to trigger if either first or last name is changed, only for other common fields. This is really dumb

For example: if more specific info is added OR updated to default info OR custom fields of a contact like adding a bday, changing address, changing state, adding or updating ANY field or custom value on a contact so that action alone triggers a workflow.

I think this is miss labeled and explained. There is already a workflow trigger that does this for most of the fields you are asking for. You just want it to include all the standard fields as well. See attached image
