I am writing to you as a GoHighLevel user to request a function that currently does not exist in the Workflow Builder and that is causing real automation problems in my account.
The problem:
When a member of my team responds manually to a customer via WhatsApp (for example, from the phone connected to the account itself), the system has no way of detecting it within a Workflow. This causes our automations (based on the “Customer Replied” trigger) to continue to trigger and interrupt ongoing human conversations, creating a poor customer experience.
What I've observed:
On the Conversations screen, GHL DOES visually distinguish whether a message was generated by Conversation AI or written by a human user (with a different icon). However, that data is not available as a trigger or as a filter within the Workflow Builder.
The function I'm requesting:
A native trigger such as “Manual Message Sent” or “User Sent Message”, which allows:
  • Detect when an outgoing message was manually written by a user (not by AI or a workflow).
  • Filter by channel (WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram, etc.).
  • Use it to, for example, automatically add a tag or remove the contact from an ongoing workflow when a human takes control of the conversation.
I have seen that this same request already exists in the GoHighLevel ideas panel (for example “Workflow Trigger for Manual Outbound Messages” and “Add trigger when user sends a WhatsApp message”), with several agencies asking for the same thing. I would like to add my vote and my specific use case to that request, and ask if there is an estimated date or if it is on the roadmap.
