Manually move a contact to a specific step inside a Workflow
B
Borna Dobric
Currently, contacts can only progress through workflows step by step or via conditional logic (If/Else, Goals, or re-enrollment). However, there is no way to manually move a contact to a specific step inside an active workflow.
This creates limitations in real-life scenarios where a contact needs to be “fast-tracked” or redirected within the same workflow.
Proposed solution:
Add an option to “Move Contact to Step” within the workflow view or directly from the contact’s profile.
This would allow admins or agents to place a contact exactly at the right point in the workflow without workarounds like tags, custom fields, or duplicating automations.
Benefits:
Simplifies workflow management.
Saves time and avoids messy workarounds.
Gives users more flexibility to handle exceptions or manual adjustments.

To be able to manually move people to any specific step in the workflow, including previous steps. At the moment the only current option is to move selected contact(s) to next step. But it would be incredibly useful to move them to a specific step including backwards

Out of ignorance, wouldn’t what you mentioned be the same as using the "Go To" action? You should use "If" and then "Go To"

Alejandro Bolaño, What you describe is a "messy workaround." Yes, you could add an If/else immediately after where the Contact is currently with one branch being Go To the desired place in the workflow. But that is a lot of building/editing/testing for something that may be used only one time. Are you going to add an extra If/else on every action step with Go To options for every possible other action in the workflow?

Keith Besherse yes yes... I understand you, it's really messy, I have some workflows that there are a lot If/else and I understand you. Thanks for the answer

Almost every one of these ideas have multiple workarounds or an external integration that would do the task.
But the future vision for The Platform SHOULD BE that non-technical small business owners can use it simply and smoothly.
This is what I envisioned as the strategic objective when I was first introduced to HighLevel and encountered limitations which clearly were on the roadmap for resolution.
