Need the ability to be able to redirect to the Appointment.
For example when sending an internal notification that an appointment needs to be confirmed.

You need to explain this more.
My guess is when an appointment is not confirmed by the user in a timeframe you want to redirect the notice to a manger. Use a trigger on appointment status new and set a timer for the time out. On timeout check status and send internal based on status where you can select the user.
