Choose which fork in a Workflow Condition when Forcing contact to next step

It would be great to be able to choose which fork in a workflow Condition a contact can be forced into regardless of whether they have met a condition or not.
POV: Contact called sales agent to express interest rather than respond to email. Therefore, positive "Intent type" was not actioned and contact was not created as an Opportunity.
I would have liked to force the contact through the workflow fork to make them an opportunity, but instead it ended the journey for the contact in the workflow.
