We need the ability to create a workflow that allows newly created custom objects (like via a form) to be associated with a single contact record. Currently that is not possible because of system limitations.

The "Form Created" trigger available in standard workflows will not fire for forms/surveys with custom object fields. So although there is an action available that would associate the custom record to the contact in a many to one relationship, there is not a way to trigger this association.

If you use the beta custom object workflow, you can trigger based on a new custom object being created (which in my case triggers with a survey/form submit). However, there is no action that associates the custom object to the contact in a many to one relationship. The only option is to create a new contact (horrible for duplicates) each time the custom object is created and associate many contacts to many custom objects.

The ability to automatically associate the custom objects to the contact records via a workflow seems like it should be a base requirement for this type of feature. It's irritating that all of the pieces to do this exist in the workflow options separately, but cannot be brought together.
