Add xAI Grok to Conversation AI (OpenAI-compatible)

Hi team — requesting Grok model support in Conversation AI / AI Agents.
xAI’s API is OpenAI-compatible (https://api.x.ai/v1), which should make integration relatively straightforward. Models like grok-4 and grok-3 deliver stronger conversational tone and context handling than the current options for many of our client use cases (support, sales, appointment setting).
Would love to see Grok added (platform-managed or BYOK). Happy to help test.
Thanks!

Hi HighLevel team,
Following up on the existing request for more LLM options in Conversation AI / AI Agents (including the original “GPTs / custom agents” post and the multiple Claude/Gemini/BYO-LLM threads).
I’m specifically requesting support for xAI’s Grok models.
Why Grok
Strong conversational style and natural tone that many of our clients prefer over current GPT options for support and sales conversations.
Excellent at maintaining context across longer threads.
Less overly cautious / more direct responses, which works better for certain verticals (home services, real estate, coaching, etc.).
Real-time knowledge and tool-use capabilities that are useful for appointment booking, FAQ handling, and lead qualification.
Technical details
xAI offers an OpenAI-compatible API, which should make integration relatively straightforward if you already support OpenAI-style endpoints.
Key details:
Base URL: https://api.x.ai/v1
Authentication: Bearer token (API key)
Models currently available (as of now): grok-4, grok-3, grok-3-mini (and previous versions)
Supports chat completions, streaming, function/tool calling, and system prompts
Pricing is competitive and transparent on a per-token basis
Because the API is OpenAI-compatible, the lift should be lower than integrating a completely different provider.
What we’re looking for
Ability to select Grok models (starting with the latest Grok-4 / Grok-3) inside Conversation AI Agents and the chat widget.
Ideally the ability to use our own xAI API key (BYOK) so we can control cost and rate limits, but even platform-managed access would be a big win.
Support for system prompts / custom instructions and knowledge base, the same way current models work.
Happy to provide more details, test access, or help validate once it’s available.
Thanks for the work you’re already doing on expanding model options. Grok feels like a natural and high-value addition given the current demand for better conversational quality.
