Hi Team,
I’ve been working with Smart Lists, but I feel I might be missing something fundamental in how they function—or perhaps I’m misunderstanding the intended use.
We base all our marketing efforts on the country where users reside. For example, if we want to create a marketing campaign or send a newsletter to all users in a specific country (e.g., the USA), I can create a Smart List for users currently in my database. However, the system doesn’t seem to dynamically add new users to the Smart List from forms, CSV imports, or other data sources.
After speaking with a few advisors, I’ve been told I would need to create tags and then set up automations based on those tags to populate Smart Lists. If that’s true, I’d have to manually create over 100 automations to handle sorting new users into these lists. That doesn’t seem efficient or scalable.
What I need is a way for Smart Lists to grow dynamically. For instance:
If a user fills out a form and selects the USA as their country, they are automatically added to the USA Smart List.
Similarly, any data imported or submitted should update Smart Lists in real-time without requiring extensive manual automations.
Platforms like HubSpot manage this seamlessly. They allow users to be sorted dynamically based on form inputs, survey responses, or even user activity (e.g., website behavior). Does GHL offer similar functionality?
I’d appreciate clarification on what’s currently possible in GHL and any best practices for achieving this kind of dynamic user segmentation.
Looking forward to your insights.
