"Cancel at Period End" for Subscriptions — Let Customers Keep Access Until Their Paid Period Expires (Not Immediately!)

đź”´ The Problem
Right now, when a subscription is cancelled — whether by the customer or manually by the admin — access and permissions are revoked immediately, even if the customer has already paid for the remaining period.
This creates serious real-world problems:
A customer who paid for a yearly plan and cancels in month 3 loses access instantly, despite having 9 months of paid access remaining
Business owners are forced to manually track every cancellation and remember to reinstate access until the correct end date
It creates customer frustration and distrust — they feel they're being robbed of what they already paid for
It puts businesses at risk of chargebacks and refund disputes, since customers feel the service was not delivered
âś… The Requested Feature
Add a native "Cancel at Period End" toggle to the subscription cancellation flow.
How it should work:
When a subscription is cancelled, give admins (and optionally customers) the choice:
⚡ Cancel Immediately — revoke access right now
📅 Cancel at Period End — keep access active until the current billing period expires, then automatically revoke
The subscription should clearly show a "Scheduled for cancellation on [date]" status so both admin and customer can see it
No more recurring charges after cancellation is confirmed
On the end date, access and permissions are automatically removed — zero manual work required
 Why This Matters
This is standard behaviour in virtually every modern subscription platform. Customers expect it. Businesses depend on it.
Without this feature, every business running courses, memberships, coaching programs, or any recurring service is forced to build manual workarounds — tracking spreadsheets, setting calendar reminders, or hacking end dates one by one — just to honour what the customer already paid for.
This is not just a nice-to-have. It is a fundamental trust and compliance issue for any business using subscriptions to sell access-based products.
👥 Who This Affects
✔️ Course creators & membership site owners
✔️ Coaching & service-based businesses on recurring plans
✔️ SaaS businesses built on top of this platform
✔️ Any business offering annual, quarterly, or monthly subscription billing
đź’ˇ Proposed Implementation (simple version)
On the Cancel Subscription action → show a modal with two options: Cancel Now or Cancel at Period End
If Cancel at Period End is selected → set status to "Active (Cancelling)" with the end date visible
On the end date → automatically trigger permission removal and final status update to "Cancelled"
This single feature would eliminate hours of manual admin work every week and dramatically improve the subscription experience for thousands of businesses.
