GHL Caching issue with WordPress Website hosted on GHL
J
Jenni Wallace
I have launched a new WordPress website in the last month hosted on GHL. We have constant issues with the GHL cache having to be cleared with about any change we make to the system. It happens at least 3 times a week that we publish some new element and it isn't visible until we clear the GHL cache. Can someone please look into this?

yes I have this same issue, it's putting max time on the cache, and I tried adjusting on all levels that Ryan mentioned.
can you just put some cache controls in the advanced settings -> cache management section please?

I hope we have the capability to both auto refresh cache or PREFERABLY disable it. I'm still getting angry customers complaining that their websites are not displaying correctly. This is unacceptable.

In my opinion, this is a really bad bug and needs to be fast-tracked to the tops of the list. I have clients really angry with me over this issue. It's clearly not working well and the ability to disable it or perhaps automatically refresh it every xx minutes would be the best possible way to workaround this issue. But let me stress that it is a MUST to have the capability to disable cache if desired.
Right now this is nothing short of a disaster for my agency. Clients are pissed.

Jenni, we've been having a similar problem for months. Clients are complaining about website being messed up, and we are moving websites with chronic cache issues to an alternate server with a consistent, reliable, manageable cache. Some websites seem fine, but others repeatedly have corrupt caches and as you said, only remedy is to manually clear the cache each time.

Mark Quigg remember that caching happens at various levels including:
  • in the visitor's browser
  • on the visitor's wifi
  • at the visitor's ISP
  • at the website's CDN
  • at the website's server
Your problems could be arising at any of those levels but HL can only solve it at the CDN and server levels. Caching beyond that could be effected by the visitor's settings, your caching plugins, etc.

Same with us... had to have a backup plan. Seems that literally the only way to clear the cache is manually within the dashboard or GHL WordPress admin page. Found out that they cache sites with rocket.net, and I've even reached out to them to try to find answers but they won't help; say I have to go back to our provider.

Wow, I was caught off guard by this problem. I would’ve never guessed that we couldn’t control this. Yikes. Unfortunately I’ll probably need to build outside of GHL until this is fixed. So disappointing.

Disable CDN Cache plugin
J

For the love of GOD please allow us to disable the CDN cache plugin. Half the time it doesn't clear or purge correctly.
