I'm an SEO expert and currently, the filename of an image doesn't show in the source code of HL sites.
In the source code, an image file displays something like, "https://images.leadconnectorhq.com/image/f_webp/q_80/r_480/u_https://assets.cdn.filesafe.space/jxLn64VlyQyLb0hq8FEq/media/66c4e14871b5f156bf95dd0e.jpeg", despite the image file being named and uploaded to the media library as "my-image-1.jpg". Notice the url that is in the source code has completely excluded the original filename (my-image-1.jpg).
I understand the change in name is related to the server delivering the image, but the original filename should still be preserved to some degree, for SEO purposes.
For example, if the filename is included in the new url, such as in the following example, it would be fine:
Please HL, help us help you by allowing us to have control over the filenames of images for enhancing the ability to rank HL sites on Google, which will encourage more users to use HL sites instead of others like Wordpress, which allow this optimization.
Make HL SEO great : )
I'm here to help with the "what".
