CREDIT CARD HOLD (for Stripe deposits on booking/confirmation page)

Hi - I'd like to request a feature. Several other booking software options out there (including Stripe) have the option where we can place a hold on a card rather than charge up front for a deposit.
I think it uses a different API (https://stripe.com/docs/charges/placing-a-hold) - but this would be a HUGE boost potentially for our clients, and I'm sure many others. They need the security of the up front deposit or something against the no shows without having to actually CHARGE them up front. We can then have clients communicate "We will put a hold on your card for $50, which will be charged and applied towards your treatment at the time of service, or as a no-show fee. Your card will not actually be charged until date of service."Being able to add that line, which we're all so programmed and used to in modern society, I think is going to be potentially MASSIVE.

I'd like our clients to book appointments and pay at the time of the appointment. We want to be able to securely store their card information when they book without charging them, and then charge for no-shows or at check-out. Many spa booking software systems offer this feature.

We have half f it now. We can capture CC for 1 dollar (or whatever amount) but the problem is that the remainder balance is then issued as an invoice instead of an automatic or (manually push through on our end) causing the client to still have to pay the invoice again. So it takes card of despits but defeats the automation purpose .I bet it's coming soon!

Any update on this? This was requested in '21 and is standard with other software like Square. Would help many of my clients in different industries. As mentioned, Stripe offers the functionality in their API. We need this feature as soon as possible.

Absolutely, we need this!!! I work with multiple boat rental businesses. Currently, these businesses typically hold the client's card as a precaution for any damage or unforeseen events. Once the service is completed and the boat inspection is satisfactory, the hold on the card is released. Introducing this feature would streamline our booking processes and offer increased security and flexibility for both us and our clients.

Square does this why can't GHL?: Enable No-Show Protection from the online Square Dashboard
From your Appointments Dashboard, click Settings > Payments & Cancellations. Under 'Payments,' select Hold card for no-show protection. Click Next. Set a flat cancellation fee per individual service or per appointment.
Acuity does this why can't we do in GHL ?: Collect and save card details
Use this setting to require clients to save their payment details at booking without being charged.
When your client enters their card details at booking, your payment processor submits a small pre-authorization charge to validate the card. After verification, charge is reversed automatically by the payment processor. When you want to collect the amount due, you can manually charge the card for the full amount in Acuity.
When you select this option, the Clients can pay full amount in advance toggle appears. With this option, clients can choose to pay at booking instead of giving card details and waiting to be charged later.
If you choose Collect and save card details, then enable Clients can pay full amount in advance, the Clients can tip when they pay in full toggle appears. Turning that toggle on lets clients tip.
