It would be good to be able to click on a link in the email notification which will direct the approver to the specific post to be approved/reviewed.

Yes, this 1000%. The notification is currently useless if it doesn't take the approver to the post or even the planner.
What would be great is a preview of the post, and a trigger link to just approve/reject right in the email. Since most approvers will likely be on mobile and wont be able to see it via mobile browser.
