Currently, the POS system displays products in a flat list/grid without structured category navigation. For businesses like cafés, restaurants, and takeaway shops, this makes it difficult and slow to locate items during busy service.
I suggest adding nested category navigation, similar to traditional POS systems used in hospitality. For example:
  • Main Categories:
• Drinks
• Coffee
• Food
• Desserts
  • Subcategories (optional):
• Coffee → Hot / Cold
• Food → Wraps / Plates / Sides
When a category is selected, it should filter and display only the products within that category, allowing faster selection and a cleaner interface.
Suggested Features:
• Category tabs or buttons at the top of POS screen
• Ability to assign products to categories (already exists via collections—needs POS integration)
• Optional subcategories (nested structure)
• Quick toggle between categories
• Default category view on POS load
Benefits:
• Faster checkout during peak hours
• Better usability for staff
• Industry-standard experience for cafés/restaurants
• Scalable for large menus
This would significantly improve POS usability for hospitality businesses
