Under Smart Lists under contacts, there is no way for a text-based custom field to be filtered by "is empty'' or "is not".
Most of the other field types you can filter by "is empty' or "is not", including 1st name etc but it looks like this filter option of "is empty" or "is not" has been missed by mistake for text-based custom fields.
This is causing quite a headache when creating Smart Lists for email and sms blasts.

  • is empty
  • is not
  • Does Not Contain
