Show conversations on the opportunity card

When we go through opportunities with our sales team, we usually look at the pipeline and open each opportunity we need to discuss. However, discussions suffer because we can't see which conversations have happened directly on the opportunity card. Instead, we have to load the contact to look at the conversations, then we have to go back to the pipeline to continue with the next opportunity.
It is very cumbersome. It would be much easier if we could see the conversations directly in the opportunity so we don't have to load the contact and go back every time.

It would be great to have the entire communication thread as another tab on the left panel of the opportunity. Many users like to navigate all within the opportunity. So all communications with that particular contact.

Hi All,
We're exploring conversation association with Opportunities and would love your feedback on this specific scenario. When a contact is linked to multiple opportunities, how would you expect conversations to work?
- Should all messages from that contact automatically appear on every associated Opportunity?
- Or would you want specific messages from that contact to be associated with specific Opportunities?
For example, if John is linked to Opportunity A and Opportunity B, would you want all of John's messages visible in both opportunities, or would you want to manually associate some messages with Opportunity A and others with Opportunity B?
Also, does this need apply only to Email, or to other channels like SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram as well? Please share your use case and workflow so we can better understand your needs. If you'd prefer to discuss it over a call, please feel free to book some time with me: https://speakwith.us/SUSMITHA

Susmitha Damarla every opportunity has a different purpose or outcome. If I want to see the entire conversation I can see that in the contact and conversation panes anyway. Where multiple conversations exist, the conversation in an opportunity should be relevant for that opportunity only and cover all used channels.

CHANNELS:
Ideally you would allow users to filter channels on the Opportunity Conversation view, and remember that selection for each user.
If we were to choose, we'd ideally want to see 1:1 communications with the lead:
- Synced emails and emails sent from the CRM
- SMS's
- Whatsapps
- Calls
Usually NOT:
- Social Media
- Newsletters or Workflow emails
WHICH CONVERSATIONS TO SHOW:
It would be better than what we have right now if all conversations appeared on all opportunities. That should be the V1 release IMO. If you'd have the development resources, you'd have an Opportunity association with Conversation Threads. In the UI this would appear as a selectable pin, to attach the thread to the Opportunity.
You'd also need a filter on the opportunity to see associated communications only or all communications.
Then the user can select a pin on a conversation to attach it to the specific opportunity. Conversations started from that opportunity would be automatically pinned.
The association should be many:many, as users may want to tag the same conversation from multiple opportunities.

Thanks, Sertan Djelal . That's helpful. I'd like to better understand your use case and expectations. If you're open to it, I'd love to chat and learn more about how you'd like this to work. You can book a time that works for you here: https://speakwith.us/SUSMITHA

Susmitha Damarla I don't think a one-solution will fit all use cases. In my situation I'd need to see the full conversation since some of my users live inside the opportunity view and would need to see everything that happened. Also we only have one type of opportunity (opposed to what other people mentioned). The one thing we need this for is to take away the switch to the contact/conversation page just to see what happened. Users dislike how to manage the opportunity from the contact detail page which is why having the conversation in this page will help.

Susmitha Damarla it would be cool if all messages are shown and then there's an option to hide messages for a specific conversation and that persistence lasts. That way you have the option to see in context if you need to.

Susmitha Damarla All conversations, with the ability to search or filter would be useful

Pallavi Kothari - We run training courses for businesses and we have different people we deal with to conduct this: Person who books the course, person who provides details and admin for delegates, person who receives and pays invoices. It would be good to see all comms from all contacts in one place WITHIN the opportunity itself, rather than pressing the bubble button - but if the bubble button took us to a "merged" conversation view, that would also work.

We need to see the PAST APPOINTMENTS at the opportunity level as well. Takes another 4+ clicks to get to that information

this way , you won't have to open a new tab , and go in and do 2 things at once
You can hammer down calls in one pipeline, drag and drop , and call from one spot

Yes, this is important. An option could be added on the right side where the entire conversation can be viewed — something similar to how contacts are edited now. That way, you can just drag and see the whole conversation. And if you switch to a different opportunity, the conversation updates accordingly.

With multiple contacts on an opportunity having to go into each contact to find the relevant communications is a time consuming process. So being able to see all conversations from all contacts linked to an opportunity would make life a lot easier.
