Opportunity Types
Ryan Hartigan
We now have opportunity custom fields and we are soon getting “contact types”.
We would like to have opportunity types as well. Some companies have different types of products or objects they wish to manage with different fields on different pipelines.
For us, for example, where we service dealerships. We have service repair orders, which have different fields around the time spent servicing and the service type. We have car sales, which have vehicle and finance and sales related fields. We also have vehicle objects, which have to go through steps in a sequential process to get “ready for sale”, and also have their own object fields.
Being able to create separate opportunity object types with separate fields actually allows the deal board to be used for many things outside of just sales, like a hiring board for employees, a task board for a recurring process within the business, or even a project management tool.

Similar to contact types, it would be great if we could have opportunity types that can be customized. Things like Estimate, Work Order, Claim, Applicant, etc. would be examples of opportunity types. Taking this a step further would be to include different custom fields based on the opportunity type.

Bumping this. I'd love to have different Opportunity Types with specific opportunity custom fields for each of them. My case is very similar here with different services being offered which have very different information needed.

exactly I have a prospect pipeline, and a reorder pipeline that work for sales, but its also how I manage onboarding steps for closed clients and would love that order flow pipeline to be a different type
