[NEED] Ability to edit Opportunity Created Date
J
Justin Showers
There are plenty of use cases where someone would need to edit the Opportunity's Created Date.
Here's one:
One of our Sales people is about to start using HighLevel and he needs to replicate his existing pipeline within, which will essentially be creating a bunch of new Opportunities. Without the ability to edit the “Created Date” for Opps to reflect when these actually came into his pipeline, our data/reporting thinks these were all created on the same day. We know when these Opportunities arose... we just have no way to import or change that date field.

We are also trying to do the same thing, but the current process destroys existing pipeline reporting for all time before the import. I honestly expected that this field would be exposed by the API.
Why not have two fields createdAt and systemCreatedAt. The original one continues to be used in the same way for our reporting but becomes updateable with the API or bulk import. systemCreatedAt would be when the record was created, but only expose that via the API or in audit logs, and leave it uneditable.
I cannot underestimate how problematic this is for convincing clients to switch from the existing system that they have been using for years. Very frustrating.

I have a client who has three years of historical opportunity data that he wants to load into GHL and having it all listed as the opportunity was created on the import date means he won't be able to analyse the data and it the historic data will be mixed up with the current data.
Considering there are people migrating from other CRMs, the ability to align opportunity date with actual opportunity date rather than import date is vitally important for any business.

This is extremely basic and crucial for migrating from other CRMs. Any news about that?

We just migrated all records between two GHL subaccounts and faced this issue. Not only createdAt, but also the updatedAt date.
Only solution is to not use the native createdAt / updatedAt fields, and to create custom fields for these values. Then use Workflows to manage these on each opportunity create / update.
But that's a bad design pattern, to be using custom fields for something that already exists natively (and cannot be used as needed).

I recently completed a full CRM migration from a flooring industry CRM into GoHighLevel — importing 26,000+ contact records with sales history dating back to 2018.
The migration went well. But I hit a critical limitation:
GHL does not allow setting a historical "Created At" date when creating Opportunity records via API or CSV import. Every opportunity is stamped with today's date regardless of when the original transaction occurred.
For a business with 17,000+ completed sales going back years, this makes the dashboard, revenue reporting, and pipeline analytics unusable for historical context. All 17,000 historical wins appear as if they happened on import day.
The Request:
- API — Allow a "createdAt" field in the POST /opportunities/ payload
- CSV Import — Add a "Created At" column to the Opportunities import template
- Allow "Won At" and "Lost At" dates to be set independently
The Business Case:
This affects every business migrating into GHL from Salesforce, HubSpot, ServiceTitan, or any other CRM. Without backdating, GHL reporting becomes unreliable for migrating businesses — which undermines a core value proposition.
This has been raised in the Ideas forum since 2022 with no resolution. As GHL scales into enterprise, accurate historical migration is a baseline expectation.
Happy to beta test or provide technical details if helpful.

Ability to Choose Opportunity Create Date

Currently, when you input an opportunity, you need to use today's date.
This is a problem if a client is importing data from another CRM or loading their own data into GHL. This results in several years of historic data all showing as "opportunity created" = today.
Having a way to set the opportunity create date so a date in the past can be chosen is vitally important to allow such users of GHL to get a dashboard that displays data correctly.

Can you please add a field for the Opportunity Creation Date?

Im having the same issue. I think it is very important to be able to create a date in the past.

this is essential for good reporting now 2026, and good reporting still doesn't seem to be a priority for GHL
