Create / Update / ""MOVE"" Opportunities

Surprising that this was not already a thing.
Add the ability to have a automation that will take an opportunity and move it from X stage to Z stage. or simply move it to the next stage.
Uses: Help you in dealing with 100s of leads without having to manually move them or create complicated workflows that are hanging on a thread.
Able to add follow up workflows. IE you do an action, then it updates the stage for you.
Saving you so much time.
HOW TO MAKE THIS WORK?
I would separate "Create" "Update" and "Move" into their own workflow actions/triggers. Unlocking so much more and giving confidence to users knowing THIS will update the thing THIS will Create a THING. Vrs Create/Update like what will it do? if you have Duplicate Opportunities allowed this just confuses things even more.
Example how active campaign does it: https://help.activecampaign.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001928610-How-do-I-automatically-move-a-deal-from-one-stage-to-another-

Core Platform this is an urgent issue needing immediate attention. In real estate, managing multiple properties per client can lead to severe errors when the system defaults to updating the most recent opportunity. This can mix critical details between properties, risking client dissatisfaction and financial losses. Separating "Create," "Update," and "Move" into distinct actions will ensure precise updates and improve operational efficiency. Please prioritize this enhancement to support high-stakes business operations like ours.

I strongly support this feature request as it directly addresses critical operational challenges we face daily. In our case, the inability to specifically target an opportunity for updates within a workflow has led to significant errors and inefficiencies, particularly when handling multiple opportunities for a single client in various stages.
The proposed separation of "Create," "Update," and "Move" into distinct workflow actions/triggers is an excellent solution that would greatly enhance functionality. This change would allow users to have clear control and predictability over their workflow operations, avoiding confusion especially when duplicate opportunities are allowed.
Specifically, the "Update" action should be designed to target a specific opportunity by ID, ensuring that changes are applied precisely where intended. Additionally, the "Move" action would enable automated progression of opportunities through stages without manual intervention, aligning Gohighlevel with best practices seen in platforms like Active Campaign.
Implementing these features would streamline processes, ensure accuracy and reliability essential for businesses managing complex client interactions across various stages, and enhance user confidence and operational efficiency. This capability is crucial for our daily operations and we eagerly anticipate its integration.

Please - lets put this one on the fast track - it's crazy that you cannot do this now!!!!!!!

I cannot believe that moving an opportunity through automation is not possible.... I need to re-think how to do what I am doing.... or switch to PipeDrive... ugh...

Troy Greenberg I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, that's why we still use Pipedrive. It's insane that you can't find and move specific opportunities via automation. You can use Pabbly to move or update specific opportunities by ID, but it doesn't have a search to find the required opportunity using the opportunity custom fields so it would have to be hacked together using a 3rd party table or excel spreadsheet. Hands down IMO this is the biggest shortcoming of GHL and their largest opportunity to acquire market share from competing CRMs.

Pallavi Kothari 150% needed! It all relies on the ability to select and take actions on any given individual opportunity.

This is so needed and I too am shocked that it does not already exist. Rationally, it's hard to understand how a simple task, such as updating a software's variable field (i.e., pipeline stage) cannot be automated. Something so simple but tremendously helpful for my agents to add a tag, for example, and see the opportunity in another stage rather than redundantly adding a tag and having to update the pipeline manually. Has anyone found a workaround to this use case?

David Thompson Do you have multiple opportunities enabled? If you DON'T have multiple opportunities enabled, you can do this in a workflow since GHL makes the assumption that you only have one opportunity with the contacts details. If you have multiple opportunities enabled, you're out of luck as there is no way to specify which opportunity and ultimately just ends up duplicating the opportunity in a new stage :(

Billy Edmunds This is limited as well if you'd like to move an opportunity from one pipeline to another....Major flaw unfortunately.
