Contact Followers Is Mirrored To Opportunity Followers

I am pretty sure this used to be a thing but for some reason when I add a follower to a contact it doesn't add that follower to the opportunity. Then there is no way to add an opportunity follower through automations. You have to manually go and do it.
If you add a follower to a contact it should also add that follower to the opportunity of that same contact.

When a contact is assigned to a specific user and a different follower. Once an opportunity is created by the workflow, the owner of the opportunity will be the same owner on the contact tab. However the follower on the opportunity will remain empty it will not be changed automatically to the follower in the contact tab. It would be great if this update will be pushed.
And also, if we can choose the opportunity follower using the workflow.
