Am I an idiot? Automatically add info to opportunity card

It's great that we can add fields to the opportunity card! however i feel like the most important thing was missed! unless I'm an idiot?
A client fills out your form that data gets pulled through to the contact details etc.
The staff member goes into the pipeline to view the enquiry etc.
however now they have to play hop skip and jump between the contacts pages and the pipeline.
Currently you can not have a form filled out and those custom fields be added into the opportunity card (the main place where you work from).
Or am I dumb and this can be done?
I know you can create fields which is great but all that is, is a space where you can write stuff, you cant do anything with that info right?
BTW i asked Hlevel support on zoom this and they said its not possible so here I am making a suggestion.
TLDR: ability to have custom fields in opportunities / being able to pull info from forms etc and put that info into those custom fields.

💅Connect custom fields to Opportunity "cards" just make opportunity fields act as custom fields.

This is a wild one haha for me to explain this lets name a few things as I understand everyone will call things differently.
Right now you are Opportunity fields and custom fields.
You are so limited with opportunity fields you cant send data through workflows you can pull website form info through, the data will vanish after the "project card" goes away. you cant pull facebook lead form data over.
Its so frustrating having a feature that's almost there, but in a way completely useless. The whole main point of everyone asking for ability to edit opportunities was to have custom job sheet info so people can manage their business on a day to day.
The one thing highlevel is lacking is project management or the ability to run your business day to day.
I guess its fine for those getting a couple leads a week. but when you get 100s of leads a week it becomes impossible to manage.
the time it takes to switch constantly between contact profile and pipeline is soooooooo annoying.
Make custom fields and opportunity fields the same.
The data needs to be saved on the contact profile for repeat customers etc.
There are so many use cases for this. . . . . .

Great idea - in the meantime i have every form that is filled out added as a note and all of their form answers are there. You can access that from the opportunity card instead of going into the contact card. Hope that helps.

I just had to learn this from support! Totally not intuitive, but doable. Like Rami says below, there are 2 different kinds of custom fields - contact and opportunity, and if opportunity, they can be pulled from a form to an opportunity card. Our client has some customers who put in repeated service requests, so it's handy in our case to have these be opportunity specifiic and not contact specific.

Michelle Drumm doesnt work?

Michelle Drumm Just want to clarify, yeah you can create opportunity fields, but you cant have that info automatically filled out when someone fills an application form etc.

Hey Ashley - i got a little lost in your video, but in my example, we have a user complete a GHL form on a client's website (screeny: https://app.screencast.com/2Bmb3ooK1KFey). The form includes opportunity custom fields (service type, how long is the project, how many workers on site, etc). When the opportunity comes through into the pipeline, that data is displayed on the opportunity card (screeny: https://app.screencast.com/TlG5s21whft6h). I'm not sure how your setup is similar or different, but if your visa applications are "opportunities" then that info can be passed if it's in an opportunity custom field. But not, I don't think, as a contact custom field.

you can create custom fields in opps and have them map from the contacts fields to the custom fields we do that in our org
but 100% agree that this shouldn't be the case and that you should be able to display contact fields in the opp its a very simple thing to have and I've never used a CRM that didn't do that except GHL
we use salesforce in another business and the opp card is able to have info from any other object in it and very easy to do
GHL needs to provide this flexibility across the entire system and also have opps open up as a full screen not just a lightbox window

Rami Adra their opportunities page the cards(boxes) all of that feels so behind, highlevel is great tho. simple things like this can make it much better

Ashley Harsveld To see why it's not working we'd probably need a screeny. But this is an opportunity card in one of our pipelines pulling in custom fields. https://app.screencast.com/7acQtjRhdch6g
You just have to make sure the custom field is attached to opportunities, not contacts: https://app.screencast.com/heHvwQKCb8lfx
