Currently, GHL treats pipeline stages and opportunity statuses separately, requiring users or automations to manually update the status when an opportunity moves between stages.

Proposed functionality:

Allow admins to designate each pipeline stage as Open, Won, or Lost.

Automatically update the opportunity status when an opportunity moves into that stage.

Allow multiple stages to share the same status.

Ensure reporting, workflows, and pipeline metrics reflect the stage's assigned status.

Why this matters:

This would eliminate unnecessary automations, reduce reporting inaccuracies, and make pipeline management significantly easier. Businesses could create multiple Won or Lost stages to track specific outcomes while maintaining accurate opportunity statuses automatically.
