Currently, the Opportunities module includes both “Status” and “Stage” fields, which serve very similar purposes. Our team primarily relies on pipeline stages (e.g., Purgatory, Closed-Won, Closed-Lost, etc.) to track progress, making the default “Status” field redundant.

The main challenge is that the “Status” field is a locked standard field with predefined values (Open, Won, Lost, Abandoned), and it cannot be modified or removed. This creates confusion and inconsistency, especially since our custom stages already represent these outcomes more accurately and in greater detail.

Ideally, we would like the ability to:

Modify the default “Status” field values to align with our pipeline stages, or

Disable or remove the “Status” field entirely if it’s not needed

Having both fields active without customization creates duplication and can lead to misalignment in reporting and workflow logic. Allowing flexibility here would significantly improve clarity and usability within the Opportunities pipeline.
