Allow root domain to be used for funnel

I have a single-purpose domain: ONE FUNNEL. Why can't I assign the funnel page to be THE website.
I literally have no other use for the domain but to host that one funnel. Even if I did have other uses, why can't I just use /home to be the "main site."
From an opportunities perspective, I don't want people to visit example.com and have to click another link to get to the funnel, and I don't want them to have to type in a "/path" just to get to the funnel on the first visit.
I can't assign example.com/ to my funnel page because:
"This is a reserved path, please set the root url from the Domain Settings."

I came here to post about the same issue. It doesn't make any sense...
Not only does it look strange in your situation but it could be far worse for any website where there is domain authority on the root domain but I can't rebuild a new website here that follows the same path.
And I just spent almost 2 hours with support over zoom to learn that there's no way to do this.
Hopefully they get with the program- this can't be a difficult update

So you would rather that they go to newclient.example.com

Bill that's what I'm trying to avoid. I don't want to have to use "sub.domain.com" or "domain.com/funnel"...
I just want visitors to be able to go to domain.com and that's a funnel page because the domain serves no other purpose, but the system says "This is a reserved path, please set the root url from the Domain Settings."
