Currently, designing documents in GoHighLevel feels restrictive — most content is stacked vertically, and only a few field types (like signature, text input, or checkboxes) allow semi-free placement on the page.
To create truly professional, custom-branded documents, users need more control over layout. This request includes two main improvements:
1. Allow free placement of all elements, including text blocks, images, variables, and dynamic fields — not just input fields. Let users drag and drop any item to any spot on the page, similar to how design tools or PDF editors work. This allows better visual design, more flexibility for branding, and better matching of existing document templates.
2. Add alignment and positioning tools, such as:
• Smart guides or rulers to help align objects to the center of the page or other elements.
• Snap-to-grid or snap-to-element functionality for clean, consistent layout.
• Group or align multiple elements together, making it easier to create balanced, symmetrical designs.
Even for existing elements like text inputs, dates, and checkboxes, aligning them precisely is currently very difficult. These tools would massively improve visual consistency, editing experience, and output quality, especially when working with complex documents or legal templates.
With these upgrades, GoHighLevel’s document builder would feel less like a form generator and more like a real document editor — perfect for contracts, proposals, and branded documents.
