Here is a list of css enhancements that would make for better backend customizations:
  1. A class or ID that identifies the current page.
  2. More identifying classes. Example: In the header, you have 2 bars, the first bar has no identifier but the second does ('.toopmenu-nav'). Give the first bar and other items identifying classes.
With these simple changes, designers can do much better customizations.
