Enable Potential of Custom Objects in workflows - Expose Custom Contact-to-Contact Associations in Workflows & Opportunity Context

Currently, custom Contact-to-Contact associations (e.g. Buyer ↔ Seller relationships) are not accessible within Workflow actions such as “Create Associated Record for Contact”, nor from the Opportunity context, even though these associations exist and work correctly at the data/UI level.
This limits important real-world use cases where a 1:1 relationship between two contacts (e.g. Restaurant ↔ Winemaker) needs to be reused across workflows — for example:
- Sending emails or notifications to the associated contact
- Detecting whether two contacts have done business together before
- Reusing existing relationship data when creating or automating opportunities
Custom objects created from scratch are supported in general (but also still limited in value for opportunities e.g. (no emails can be sent to the associated obect / contact), but custom contact-contact associations are not exposed in general, which creates an inconsistency in the platform.
Feature request:
Make custom Contact-to-Contact associations accessible in:
- Workflow actions (dropdowns & variables)
- Opportunity context (for automation, emails, and logic)
This would unlock powerful CRM, marketplace, and relationship-based workflows.
