BCC option for those who want to keep Two-Way Sync off
J
Jeyda-Grace Omer
At the moment you can only get a BCC address if you turn two way sync off. We have multiple clients that want to send certain emails to High Level but keep two way sync off for confidentiality reasons.
It would be great if these features could be separate so we can send emails from gmail to highlevel Conversations without syncing out whole mailbox.

Decouple Smart BCC from 2-Way Sync for Selective Logging

Currently, the Smart BCC feature is only active when 2-way email sync is enabled. For Agency Admins and high-level users (HR, Legal, Non-profits), this creates a significant privacy risk because enabling 2-way sync exposes all sensitive emails to every Admin in the sub-account.
The Problem: Users often need to log specific client interactions from external mail clients (like Mac Mail or Outlook) without syncing their entire inbox. However, when 2-way sync is turned off to protect personal/sensitive data, the Smart BCC address disappears or fails to authenticate the sender.
Requested Solution:
Independent Smart BCC: Allow the Smart BCC feature to function even if 2-way sync is disabled for a user.
Authenticated Senders List: Allow users to "vouch" for specific external email addresses that are authorized to push logs via BCC to that sub-account, regardless of sync status.
Selective Syncing: Provide a way to manually "push" a thread from a synced inbox to a contact record, rather than the current "all-or-nothing" automatic tracking.
Why this matters: This is a major friction point for professional service providers and agencies that require admin-level access but handle sensitive communications. Solving this would make GHL a viable solution for organizations with strict data privacy requirements.

Restrict conversation logging

There needs to be a way to only log emails sent outside of GHL (Mac MAil/Gmail, etc) that only logs them to conversations if a BCC email is used. Currently, ALL my emails are being logged, to anyone who is a high-level contact, and that's problematic as there may be sensitive emails. If you could turn off the 2 way email sync but still use a BCC email to log and track, that would be ideal and a simple solution.

Running into this constantly with clients who need compliance tracking but can't risk exposing their full inbox. The current all-or-nothing approach kills deals for us in legal and healthcare verticals.

To the High Level team: Please move forward with the "Independent Smart BCC" feature, and let the BCC feature work without requiring two-way sync.
Two-way sync breaks confidentiality, as mentioned by Jeyda-Grace Omer above.
My current workaround: I use HubSpot + GHL concurrently because HubSpot has smart BCC while GHL does not. Using two CRMs is a pain. I'd like to drop down to one. It would be great to go with GHL-only, but GHL lacks the BCC feature.
Please make this improvement. Thank you!

To the High Level team: Please move forward with the "Independent Smart BCC" feature as described by Jen Neumann, above.
My current solution: I continue to use HubSpot + High Level concurrently because HubSpot has the Independent Smart BCC feature, while High Level does not.
Forcing users to enable 2-way sync is a breach of security, and an example of bad software hygiene. Please make this improvement. Thank you!

The current lack of BCC option (and the requirement to use two-way sync for anything to come across into GHL) also breaks support for having one person who works with customers associated with multiple subaccounts. Bringing back the ability to have per-account BCC that we can copy and have the email associated with the client in the correct sub-account would be enormously helpful.

This needs way more votes! Hubspot has this option GHL needs to be right up there with them.
