Even when both the customer and I have complained, we have had a hard time connecting their signup to my account as the affiliate that signed them up. Might have been some problem during signup, an accidental failure to use the link to start the first signup then completing the process later with the link, or whatever, but it seems to me if both the signer and the signee agree who sold them the account, it should be easy enough to tell customer support and have them tie the account affiliate linkage.
