Track visitor activity on a 3rd Party Website
R
Robert Diaz
I see that the system tracks visits from the user to a website created on HL but I want to be able to track visits on my Wordpress site!Usually other systems have an embed code to put on your website so that these visits are tracked but I confirmed with HL support that page visits can only be tracked on websites created inside HL. Please add this tracking code option so we can track visits across external sites. Thanks

This is a MUST have. Incredulous that this is not already a feature.

Steve Day checking with dev I know this is something we’re close on

Shaun Clark there is a workaround and it works. Just tested it in a Shopify website.
It is not in the official documentation but just installing the chat widget you make the trick. Hide it and that’s it, you start to get the data on the contact profile on GHL
Here is the link for the convo we had in the community about it.

Steve Day check the convo we had in the community. This is “working” already with this workaround

Carlos Granada Yup that's a good one for now but I want the real thing we'll get there soon!

Carlos Granada Spent 30min testing this with both LiveChat & Email/SMS chat & couldn't get it to work.
If you've been able to do it, mind sharing a quick loom showing how it works on your end?

Carlos Granada So yes we can see the pages they visit as the chat widget is on every page and thus can visibly track which page visitors visited. The problem is ghl does not give us functionality in their automation section for a trigger based on a contact visiting one of these pages.

This post is 3.5 years old and still doesn't appear to be under review- any update of this essential feature for building and tracking effective funnels? We can't use GHL checkouts as all our automations are built on Thrivecart. Not having this feature means we can't use GHL for funnels effectively.
I want to offer GHL to my clients as a SAAS product but there are some key features missing - this is one of them.
Please consider prioritising this. thanks

I wonder if there has been any development on this.

Totally agree - this would be really useful as I host my website and some landing pages on WordPress

I can't believe this has not been deployed yet. We as an agency are looking to migrate our clientes, but this functionality is a MUST HAVE to be able to have flexibility integrating 3rd party websites. Please hurry up.

Yes! It would be great to see what pages on a WordPress site a prospect has viewed before and after they have submitted a lead form or chatted with us. Super helpful.

If you install the livechat widget on the remote site, you will get tracking in GHL. You can always hide the chat interface if you don't want it visible to users.

Jamie Buchanan could you tell me more about this?

Jamie Buchanan Are you positive about this? Is this true Shaun Clark?
