Required Fields to Move Opportunity Stages

When a sales rep is manually moving a deal between stages, we often need to make sure that they're capturing certain data. So if they finish a sales call, we might want to know their confidence level, or the products/services they're interested in, etc.

Check out monday.com / Pipedrive, Hubspot, all these CRM have a pipeline and lead restricting feature.
Big companies with multiple salespeople and thousands of leads—imagine that. Why don’t we have a feature that restricts salespeople from moving leads further in the pipeline unless specific conditions are met? Monday.com, Pipedrive, and all these cheap CRMs have this feature. For example, if a lead hasn’t been called or has no notes, the salesperson shouldn’t be able to move it to the next stage. They shouldn’t be able to mark a lead as "Contact Made" unless they’ve actually called the person or added a note confirming the interaction. They should be required to input a note before progressing the lead. Only then should they be allowed to move it further in the pipeline.

Yes, there are often steps required at each stage in the sales process and it isn't always easy to rember, requiring certain conditions to be met helps to avoid unintentional mistakes throught the sales and onboarding process.

100%. It's one of the main reasons I still haven't moved my business across from HubSpot yet. We use High Level for our clients but are stuck in Hubspot ourselves. Eager to move across, but this feature definitaly needs to be introduced before we can.
This is from the HubSpot support article:
To require a value for a property, select the checkbox in the Required column (Starter, Professional or Enterprise only). When a property is required, users won’t be able to create a deal in that stage unless they enter a value for that property.

An example, If the lead is not assigned to someone then that lead cannot move to the next stage in the pipeline. This seems to be a sticking point on sales for me personally because clients like to have certain parameters for the sales teams.
