Be able to fill in custom fields in contacts from the "add an appt" and "add an opportunity" and "messaging"

my snapshot requires that information to be filled in for the campaigns to be effective. If not, the messaging is incomplete. Right now, my clients cannot enter in the new contact properly from the appt, messaging, or opportunity screen. it can only be done in the add a contact area. It is really frustrating to have to leave where you are working just to enter those custom values.
